Map and Directions

We are easy to find, in the very HEART of San Francisco. The Safeway at Church and Market is just three blocks to the south; the Opera House is a ten-minute walk to the east; the Castro Theatre is a ten-minute walk to the west. The San Francisco Zen Center is 4 blocks away; Duboce Park is 3 blocks away; and Alamo Square is just 5 blocks.

We are at 493 Haight St. #4, in the same building as a Walgreen's Drugstore, right at the corner of Haight and Fillmore. We are just a few blocks from the Central Freeway, which is fed by Interstate 80 and US 101 if you are coming from the East Bay or the Penninsula. If you are coming from the north, you can take Fillmore all the way from Lombard. If you are coming from the west, Lincoln Way feeds into Oak Street, which crosses Fillmore not far from Haight. On the north side of town, Fulton Street crosses Fillmore six blocks from Haight Street. And of course you may always simply call me for directions, wherever you are.

Once you get to 493 Haight Street, you need to navigate through our fancy new intercom system to call me so that I may buzz you into the front gate. Scroll through the list of names until you come to "Savage," then dial 004 and listen attentively for my voice at the other end (the speaker on the intercom is set rather low and the street can be rather noisy). Once you are buzzed in, just come up to the top of the stairs - I am the first door on the left. That's my garden you will see as you come up the steps.
